With the Bathurst 1000 happening this weekend. I thought we should take a look at the races of the past. Obviously, we are huge fans of vintage racing here at Afterburner. So, naturally, my mind went to the 90’s when Dick Johnson and Peter Brock were the top names in Austrailian Supercars. Though, I  kept coming back to this, the final laps of the 2011 race. I wanted to find something that was quintessentially Australian Supercars. Preferrably something Holden versus Ford. This is not that. The finish of the 2012 race would be a better example of that, but I felt that this was a much better battle.

Garth Tander, driving for Holden’s factory team leads the way. As Craig Lowndes, of Triple Eight, follows. After six hours of racing and nearly 1000 kilometers. It comes down to the final laps to decide who would be getting the win.
